Get To Know Kell
Dr. Kell Cameron has spent his life fighting for opportunity, fairness, and dignity - values rooted in both his journey as an immigrant and his calling as an educator.

Born and raised in Northern England, Kell came to the United States at 18 years old with two suitcases and an unshakable belief in the American dream. Settling in Florida, he built a life defined by discipline, drive, and a deep belief in public service. Over the past decade, he’s worked as an educator, activist, and community servant - supporting marginalized communities, strengthening local nonprofits, and showing up for the people and causes too often overlooked.

Kell earned degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin, and Boston University, where he received his Ph.D. His love for learning and problem-solving inspired him to teach, helping students find their voices, develop their potential, and dream bigger. As an educator, Kell has seen firsthand how public education can transform lives - but also how too many students and teachers are being left behind by a system that prioritizes politics over people. That’s why he’s fighting to fully fund schools, respect teachers, and ensure every child has access to a quality education, no matter their zip code or family income.

Outside the classroom, Kell has been a steady voice for progress in Tampa Bay. He’s worked alongside community organizations to register voters, expand equality, and protect reproductive rights. He believes real leadership starts with listening and organizing - not shouting from the sidelines. His approach is simple: build coalitions, focus on solutions, and always put people first.

As a married member of the LGBTQ+ community, Kell knows that representation matters. He lives in South Tampa with his husband, Jayson, his partner of over ten years, who reminds him every day what this campaign is all about: service, shared purpose, and building a Florida that works for everyone.

Now at 38, Kell is stepping up because families across Florida are being crushed by the cost of living - from skyrocketing rent and rising insurance rates to unaffordable healthcare and infrastructure that can’t keep up. He’s running to bring fresh energy and practical solutions to Tallahassee - to make life more affordable, government more accountable, and our state more fair for all who call it home.

District 65 deserves a leader who will show up, listen, and never stop fighting for us.
